Our Aims

To promote, foster and develop woodcrafts in the Illawarra and to encourage excellence in woodcraft and related fields of design.

The Kiama Woodcraft Group Inc. meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Kiama High School Wood Working rooms at 0700 pm. Access is from the southern end of Shoalhaven Street.

Generally a guest speaker is invited to each meeting to demonstrate their woodworking skills or to discuss an interesting topic.   Meetings also include upcoming events, general discussions, show and tell (time to show off your latest work of art or that disaster!)   All visitors are welcome.

Meetings start at 7.00pm and finish at 9.30pm.

At least two exhibitions and sales are held each year at in Kiama's Old Fire Station Gallery. The exhibitions draw large numbers especially the during Christmas holiday exhibit.

A woodworking Expo is held yearly which draws interest from woodworking clubs from around the South Coast, Southern Highlands and Sydney regions. Entry is FREE with approximately 2000 people passing through the doors during the Expo weekends. The aim of the Expo is to stimulate interest in woodcrafts by showcasing a variety of demonstrations by it's members, including woodturning, carving, fret work and box making. The expo hosts a number of commercial exhibitors providing advice on the use of their products with displays and demonstrations. The Kiama Woodcraft members also feature a myriad of woodwork items available for purchase at bargain prices.

Two full day demonstration and activity days are held on a Saturday during the year, generally featuring a professional woodworker as a guest demonstrator.
