A labour of love for a special great-granddaughter.
Sorry that it wasn’t practical to bring this little cradle along to the last meeting for the “Show & Tell” segment, however…
The cradle was made for our Great Granddaughter’s first birthday. Banksia, sourced in our backyard was the obvious choice of wood and a child-friendly wipe-on oil finish was used.
The design is my own, though cradles are close to generic in overall shape; it’s the tweaking of the design and exploiting the variation of the grain of the wood that gives them an individual appeal.
