The Retirement of Ted Batty

In August, 2024, Ted Batty, long-time member of the Kiama Woodcraft Group announced his retirement from our Group due to circumstance.

Ted, over the years, has been an inspiration to our members by demonstrating his skills and generously sharing his knowledge. In the past Ted has been an active member of our group, held the position of President, Vice president and for a time, Co-ordinator of our exhibitions and sales in the Kiama Fire Station Gallery.

Ted has been influential in the group’s aims and objectives, constantly showing the results of his relentless focus on, ’trying something different’, always exploring new ideas and techniques that intrigued his audience.

Ted may have resigned from our group, however, his skill on the wood-lathe and the, ’Show and Tells’ at our meetings will be spoken of for years to come.
